HTC One S Review: I Give It A Fly
Despite the fact that there's no real wow factor here, it would be entirely unfair to say that HTC's One S isn't a great phone. It is. The hardware is some of the best I've seen in a long time, Sense 4 is quite nice albeit a touch heavy for my taste, and the specs are right in line with what we're seeing on the market today. The Decline Of Android Foretells The Rise Of A Total Apple Monopoly
We have always built and destroyed monopolies. Companies often start out good but slowly turn, for lack of a better word, evil. The twin dark stars of profit and market share bring even the kindest companies into a collision course with failure. I'd say Apple is headed down that road. The company announced its 2012 Q2 earnings earlier this week and as MG pointed out, they're nearly as impressive as the previous blockbuster quarter. A dive at wireless carrier's financials shows that the iPhone accounted for a whopping 59% of smartphone sales in the U.S. last quarter. The iPhone 4S downright crushed a league of new Android flagship handsets. Android is faltering at the hands of the iPhone. Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift: Total BFF Alert!
To borrow a line from a certain supermarket tabloid: Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift, they're just like us!
Earlier this week, the singing superstars took a break from touring and recording to simply hang out like a couple of regular pals. They played guitar, they baked cupcakes and they shared their day with fans on Instagram:
"Because you need a best friend [that] sings beautifully, another best friend to dance with you and another to listen," Gomez wrote along with the photos. "Oh and cupcakes. . .Cupcakes!"
Last year, Selena shared a story with Ryan Seacrest about how Swift showed up at her house with junk food and made her feel better about a big break-up.
"I feel very lucky to have her in my life," Selena said of Taylor.

Anheuser-Busch unhappy with remarks made by UFC fighters
"We've communicated to the UFC our displeasure with certain remarks made by some of its fighters, and they have promised to address this. If the incidents continue, we will act," the brewer said in a statement. A-B, which did not elaborate on potential actions, also stated that it "embraces diversity and does not condone insensitive and derogatory comments rooted in ethnicity, race, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, etc."
The UFC responded to Ad Age:
"Unlike most other sports leagues, we encourage our athletes to engage online. It is part of our company culture, and whenever you are at the forefront of a trend or initiative, it comes with its own pitfalls. We will continue to embrace social media while looking for better ways to stay in front of the issues. This includes a mandate for our athletes to attend sensitivity training and a seminar on proper use of social media."
The problem is not that the UFC has athletes who say and do stupid things. Every organization -- from a small family-run business to the largest multi-national conglomerates -- has people who do and say stupid things. The problem is with how the UFC has (or hasn't) dealt with the issues.
There is little consistency with how the UFC has dealt with the dumb things said by their athletes. Some, like Miguel Torres, were cut. Some, like Rashad Evans, were rebuked privately. Some, like Quinton Jackson, were ignored.
A comprehensive code of conduct for athletes, including clear examples of crossing the line and fair punishments for such actions, would not just be the fair thing for UFC fighters, but would also prevent them from getting a public rebuke from their biggest sponsor. It's just good business.
