It's out with the old and in with the new at the University of Cincinnati.
Tommy Tuberville resigned as Texas Tech's head coach on Saturday afternoon and was expected to be introduced at Cincinnati later in the day, after a basketball game.
University officials have confirmed that Tuberville has accepted the head coaching job at UC.
Sources said the news conference would happen at 6:30 p.m. at the Fifth-Third Bank Arena.
Tuberville has also been the head coach at the University of Mississippi, where he was named SEC Coach of the Year in 1997 by the Associated Press.
Tuberville then took the head job at Auburn University and led the Tigers to an SEC Championship in 2004.
He has an overall coaching record of 130-77 and a bowl record of 7-3.
The news comes just a day after Jones announced his decision to leave Cincinnati for the University of Tennessee.
Tuberville will take over a program that has been a steppingstone job for the last three head coaches. Mark Dantonio, Brian Kelly and Jones all left after three years for bigger programs -- Michigan State, Notre Dame and Tennessee.
For now, the Bearcats (9-3) are preparing for their appearance in the Belk Bowl. The team has won a share of four of the last five Big East titles.
