This one wasn't said to me, but to my SIL who has girls. Her priest- A PRIEST- told her if she wanted to have a boy, to "lie on your left side after your husband has left his seed in you, and it will help the boy sperm travel quicker so you can have a boy."
Not only is that strange advice, it's even more strange considering it comes from a priest! Although Greek Orthodox priests can marry and have children, so maybe it was a method he'd tried himself...
